Family of Bullied Boy in Viral Video Now Facing Backlash Over Alleged Racism

That escalated quickly.

If you don’t know who Keaton Jones is by this point, you might be living under a rock. Keaton had been bullied by his classmates and in a vulnerable moment, asked his mom to record him talking about his experience. The video went viral in a matter of seconds, so much so that he even had celebrities publicly voicing their support. Keaton received words of encouragement from celebrities ranging from Snoop Dogg to Captain America and everyone in between.

This video has been viewed more than 20 million times in just a matter of days.

A concerned citizen even went as far as setting up a GoFundMe page to raise money for the family, and unsurprisingly, the account blew past the $20K goal and nearly tripled it before it was halted and suspended.

So why was it shut down? The liberal outcry in defense of bullying met its trump card — racism. Apparently, Kimberly Jones, Keaton’s mother, was pretty outspoken when it came to the events following Charlottesville and the leftists don’t know what to do.

Here is one post, in particular, that was screenshot before Kimberly deleted the majority of her profile:

Twitter didn’t take too kindly to this revelation about the Jones’.  The text of the post itself wasn’t too damning but the pictures were the final nail in the coffin. The left didn’t know how to feel about all of the newfound information and believe it or not, there was some actual thought put into some of the responses. The most surprising came from uber-lefty, Patton Oswalt.

ESPN commentator Jemele Hill has had several run-ins with President Trump as well as being outspoken about the Confederate flag, but even she was cutting Keaton some slack.

So what do you think? Is this all just an overreaction or should the GoFundMe account refund all of its donors? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
