Kent County commissioners are allowing a group counseling center near Dover to stay open. Officials gave the final approval Tuesday for the NorthNode Group Counseling to continue offering services, despite some opposition raised by neighbors over its potential impact to the community. The center was in violation of county code because it did not have a conditional use permit to offer group counseling for substance abuse. County officials have maintained businesses that are actively seeking proper permitting or approvals for operation will not be closed.
