According to The Hollywood Reporter, Whoopi Goldberg has signed a four-year deal to remain the host of The View through season 28. In the latest stage of her stint with The View, Goldberg will work alongside Joy Behar, Sara Haines and Sunny Hostin.

ABC is also looking for a fifth member of The View lineup that will take Meghan McCain's spot after she decided to leave the show in July. According to Variety, McCain left the show because she relocated to Washington, D.C. during the COVID-19 pandemic and did not want to return to New York for in-person filming.

“I am here to tell all of you that this is going to be my last season here at The View,” McCain said.

“This was not an easy decision. COVID has changed the world for all of us. And it changed the way I’m living my life.”

Interestingly enough, McCain's mother, Cindy, will step in as a guest host on The View in early October. Other guest hosts include Eboni K. Williams, Condoleezza Rice, S.E. Cupp, Alyssa Farah, Mia Love and Carly Fiorina. At this time, ABC has not indicated who will become the show's permanent replacement for McCain.

Season 25 of The View kicked off on September 7 and new episodes air each weekday at 11 a.m. ET.
