As reported at Axios, large crowd showed up over the weekend at the so-called "No Kings" protests. More than 2,700 events were planned as part of the protests across 50 states as of Saturday. But what was the purpose?
They claimed "No Kings" was about free speech, yet If we really had a king and a tyrant like these individuals claim, do they think they would be able to march? No, they would be arrested and thrown in a Gulag. Protesters claimed it was to send a clear and unmistakable message: “the power belongs to the people." Really, like the 77,302,580 votes Donald Trump received which was the majority of votes by over 2 million. Like the electoral college landslide Trump won, 312 to 226. Or like the fact that Trump won all 7 swing states and over 90% of all counties in the US? American does not have a king, they have a duly elected President who won in every way possible.
Nearly 7 million protesters gathered across the U.S. on Saturday to take part in rallies against President Trump and his administration.
This latest round of protests comes as the government shutdown approaches its third week and opposition to Trump's military crackdown on Democratic-led cities grows.
According to a statement from the "No Kings" protest organizers, Saturday's turnout was "one of the largest single-day demonstrations in U.S. history" with over two million more people taking part than participated in similar protests in June of this year.
More than 2,700 events were planned as part of the protests across 50 states as of Saturday, as well as several internationally, including in London, Paris, Rome and Lisbon, Portugal.
